Using the TQI log page
This page is for Authorised Examiners, quality control managers and testers who want to see DVSA Test Quality Information (TQI) for their stations inside MOTLogs and compare each tester with the national average.
What does the TQI log page show?
The TQI log page, at /membersarea/tqi, shows one table of DVSA Test Quality Information for the organisation, station and month chosen in the top bar. The sidebar item is called TQI and the page heading is TQI log, with the subtitle "Test quality information for each tester and station."
Each column is a tester (or a site average) and each row is a TQI measure such as tests done, tests failed or average test time. A separate National column on the left gives the national figure for the same row. Every tester figure is coloured by how far it sits from the national figure. See Reading the TQI table.
The page only shows data you have already loaded. TQI does not arrive automatically: you download it from the DVSA MOT testing service and upload it to MOTLogs. See Getting TQI into MOTLogs.
How do I choose the organisation, station and month?
The TQI log page has no filters of its own. It uses the organisation, station and month chosen in the scope chip in the top bar, the same as the other pages in the signed-in area. Change the chip and the table reloads.
- If you have not chosen an organisation, the page shows "Choose an organisation to see tqi log."
- If no organisation is linked to your sign-in, it shows "No organisation is linked to your account yet."
- If you choose one station, you see that station's testers. If you choose all stations, the columns are grouped under each station number.
- The month defaults to the last full calendar month.
What does the summary line above the table mean?
Above the table a summary line shows the month and the vehicle class group, for example October 2026 ยท Classes 3, 4, 5 and 7. If the month you chose has no TQI and MOTLogs has used an earlier month instead, the line adds ", the latest month DVSA has published" after the month. See When the month you chose has no TQI.
How do I switch between vehicle class groups?
Use the selector under the summary line. It has two options:
| Option | Vehicle classes |
|---|---|
Classes 3, 4, 5 and 7 |
DVSA Group B (cars and light vans). This is the default. |
Classes 1 and 2 |
DVSA Group A (motorcycles). |
DVSA reports the two groups separately, and MOTLogs keeps them separate because they are not like for like. Switching group reloads the table. You need a separate TQI download for each group, so a station that tests both needs two uploads for the month.
What do the buttons at the top right do?
The top right of the page has the shared page buttons.
- Sign Off appears only when you have chosen one organisation and one station and your role at that organisation allows it. See the sign-off pages for what it does.
- Signed Off appears once that station and month are signed off.
- The
...menu holds Metrics, Auto-refresh and Saved views. Save view remembers the current page, organisation, station and month under a name of up to 60 characters.
