Verifying a tester's phone number

This page is for Authorised Examiners who need a tester's mobile number confirmed in MOTLogs.

How do I change a tester's phone number?

Open the tester with Edit on the Testers page. On the Details tab, type the new number in Phone Number and select Submit. MOTLogs reformats the number and works out its country and type. Changing the number always resets it to not verified, so you must verify it again.

How do I verify a phone number?

1. Open the tester and go to the Details tab.
2. Check the Phone Number is correct. If you just changed it, select Submit first.
3. Select Verify.
4. A toast says "Verification will starts shortly". MOTLogs makes an automated phone call to the number.
5. Answer the call and follow the spoken instructions.

The Verified box is read-only. It is ticked only when the number has been verified and has not changed since.

Why is the Verify button greyed out?

Verify is disabled when the number is already verified. Change the number and save it to enable it again.

What errors can I get when verifying?

Should I save the number before I verify it?

Yes. Select Submit to save a changed Phone Number before you select Verify, so the saved record and the number being called are the same. Saving a changed number also clears the verified state.
