Editing a test station's details

This page is for garage owners and Authorised Examiners who want to change what MOTLogs holds about a verified test station: its set-up, contact details, photo, opening hours, IP addresses and certificates.

How do I open a station's details?

1. Open Test stations in the sidebar.
2. Choose the Organisation.
3. Click the station's row. The station must be verified. If not, see Linking a test station to your organisation.

A dialog titled "Test Station - station name" opens, with seven tabs: Details, Garage, Hours, Social Media, IP Addresses, Invoices and Certificates. The dialog has Submit and Close buttons.

What can I change on the Details tab?

The Trading Name, Phone Number, address lines, Town and Postcode are shown greyed out. You cannot edit them in MOTLogs.

You can change:

• Station photo: select Browse and choose a .png, .jpg or .jpeg file. MOTLogs resizes it to fit within 640 by 480 pixels. The new photo is saved when you select Submit.
• Description/Notes: free text about the station.

The tab also shows stripe_customer_id and start_date read-only, and the Remove the link to this test station button.

What do I enter on the Garage tab?

The Garage tab has a Station Setup section and a Vehicle Classes section.

Station Setup:

Vehicle Classes shows Class 1, Class 2, Class 3, Class 4, Class 5 and Class 7. These tick boxes are greyed out and show what is held for the station. You cannot change them.

When MOTLogs explains a flagged test that overlaps another on the same lane, it notes that overlap may be normal for split-lane equipment or drive-in/drive-through layouts.

How do I set the email address and social links?

Open the Social Media tab. Despite the name it also holds the station's contact email.

• Email, with a Verified tick and a Verify button. Select Verify to send a verification email to the address. MOTLogs shows "An email verification has been sent." The button is disabled once the email is verified.
• Website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, Youtube and Vimeo: enter the full links.

How do I save my changes?

Select Submit at the bottom of the dialog. MOTLogs shows "The Vehicle Test Station has now been saved".

The Hours, IP Addresses and Certificates tabs save separately, with their own buttons. If you have an IP address row open for editing, Submit refuses with "Please Save or Cancel your IP address edits." Select Save or Cancel in the IP address toolbar first, then Submit again.

The Invoices tab lists the station's payments and has no save step.

How do I stop managing a station?

Select Remove the link to this test station on the Details tab. MOTLogs unlinks the station from your organisation and closes the dialog. You can relink it later from the Removed list on the Test stations page.
