Who can sign off
This page is for station owners and managers who need to know whether they, or a colleague, can sign off a month.
Which roles can sign off?
MOTLogs checks your role in the organisation. Two kinds of role can open the sign-off window:
- Authorised Examiner or Authorised Examiner Delegate: can write Authorised Examiner Comments, draw the signature and confirm. These are the only roles that can complete the Signature tab.
- Authorised Examiner Consultant: can write Consultant Comments only, and cannot sign.
Anyone else sees the site's status but no sign-off button. On the Monthly sign-off page the button area then reads "Only an Authorised Examiner or Consultant can sign off." when the site is ready.
Why is the Signature tab greyed out?
The Signature tab, which holds the "Please confirm you are happy" box, is available only to Authorised Examiners and Authorised Examiner Delegates. If you are a Consultant it is disabled. Ask the Authorised Examiner or a delegate to open the same site and month and complete the signature.
Why can I not type in one of the comment boxes?
The Consultant Comments box is editable only for Consultants. The Authorised Examiner Comments box is editable only for Authorised Examiners and delegates. The other box is greyed out. Each box holds up to 2,000 characters.
Is the role per organisation?
Yes. Your role is looked up for each organisation. If you are an Authorised Examiner for one organisation and a plain user for another, you can sign off only the sites of the first.
