Claiming a discount code

This page is for anyone who has been given the MOTLogs discount page address, for example from a QR code, and wants to claim a personal discount code. You do not need to be signed in.

How do I claim a discount code?

To claim a code:

Open /claim-discount. The page is headed Unlock Your Discount and says "Enter your details to receive a unique code."
Fill in Name, Email Address and Phone Number.
Leave Register me as well. ticked if you also want a MOTLogs profile created, or untick it.
Select Get Code.

While the code is created the page shows "Generating your code...".

What do I see after claiming?

The page changes to Your Discount Unlocked!, shows a message and the code in large type. The message reads either:

"Success! Your discount code is: code. This has also been emailed to you", or
"Welcome back! Here is your existing code: code. This has also been emailed to you" if you already claimed with that email address.

Select Copy Code to copy it to your clipboard. Select Claim Another to return to an empty form.

The code is also emailed to the address you entered, so you can find it later in your inbox.

What does Register me as well do?

If Register me as well. is ticked, MOTLogs also creates a profile from your name, email and phone, emails you a passcode, and adds " An account has been created for you. Please check your email." to the message. If this step fails, the code is still issued. For signing in, see the Getting started pages.

What errors can I get?

Message	Cause
"Name is required"	Name was left empty.
"Email is required"	Email Address was left empty.
"Invalid email format"	The email is not a valid address.
"Phone number is required"	Phone Number was left empty.
"Email and Phone Number are required."	The server rejected an empty email or phone.
A network issue message	The page could not reach MOTLogs, or no code came back. Try again.

How do I use the code?

MOTLogs does not explain in the product where the code is entered. The payment page that MOTLogs creates does not itself switch on a promotion-code box, so before paying, contact MOTLogs with your code and the station's site number to confirm how it is applied. See Paying for a plan.
