Performance tiles
This page is for managers and testers who want to read each tile on the Performance page: its number, its change from last month, its trend line and its comparison with national.
What does a Performance tile show?
Each tile shows one metric for the month you chose.
- The big number is this month's figure, with a unit:
%for rates, minfor times, none for counts. - A change from last month, with an arrow and "vs last month". Rates change in points (
+2 pts), counts and times in absolute amounts plus a percentage. - A small line chart of the last 12 months, with earlier years shown alongside where you have the data.
- A comparison line,
national 14%ornational 32 min, on the fail rate and test time tiles when TQI is loaded for the month.
Hover or focus the line to read each month's value. Select the tile to show that metric by tester.
What do the green, amber and red colours mean?
For metrics where lower is better, a fall is green and a rise is amber, or red when the rise is large. MOTLogs treats a tile as "lower is better" when its name contains fail, retest, risk, defect, outlier, abort or refus. Test volume and other tiles show direction only, with no good or bad colour.
Which tiles are there?
| Group | Tiles |
|---|---|
| Headline | Group B Tests, Group B Tests Failed, Group B Avg Test Time, Retests |
| Group A | Group A Tests, Group A Tests Failed, Group A Avg Test Time |
| Retests | Retests Failed, Average Retest Time |
| Vehicles & outliers | Avg Vehicle Age, Outliers, Outliers Attested |
| TQI | TQI Outliers, TQI Outliers Attested |
Group A is classes 1 and 2. Group B is classes 3, 4, 5 and 7. A tile with no data for the month shows a single dashed line reading "No activity this period".
How do I hide a tile?
Every tile below the headline row has an eye icon at its top right (always visible on touch screens, on hover elsewhere). Select it to hide the tile from your dashboard. The setting is saved to your profile. To bring hidden tiles back, tick Show all metrics; hidden tiles then appear dimmed and the eye icon shows them again. The four headline tiles cannot be hidden.
Why is there no national line on some tiles?
The national comparison appears only on the fail rate tile and the test time tile for Group B, and only when TQI is loaded for the month. Without TQI the tile shows no national line.
