Editing a tester
This page is for Authorised Examiners and station owners who want to update a tester's phone number or photo, or open their hours and certificates.
How do I open a tester's record?
On the Testers page, select Edit at the right of the tester's row. A window opens titled Test Station Tester - <station name> / <DVSA user ID>. It has three tabs: Details, Hours and Certificates. Use Close to leave without saving.
What fields are on the Details tab?

How do I save changes to a tester?
- Change the
Phone Numberand/or upload a photo. - Select Submit at the bottom of the window.
- A toast says "The tester has now been saved" and the record reloads.
If saving fails, the toast shows the reason returned by the server. If the network is down, you see a network issue message. Nothing is saved; try again.
Submit saves only the Details tab. The Hours and Certificates tabs have their own buttons.
Why does the page at the tester's own address have no Submit button?
The tester record can also be opened at /membersarea/VehicleTestStationTesterEdit/<organisation id>/<station number>/<DVSA user ID>. The Submit button belongs to the window opened from the Testers page, so on that address you can view the tester but not save the Details tab. Use the Edit button on the Testers page to save.
