Changing your email address or phone number

This page is for signed-in users who need to change or verify the email address or phone number on their MOTLogs profile.

How do I change my email address?

To change your email address:

1. Open Profile from your avatar menu.
2. Replace the text in the Email field.
3. Select Submit.

When the saved email differs from the one on file, MOTLogs sends a verification email to the new address and clears the Verified tick beside Email. The change is saved straight away, but the address stays unverified until you follow the link in that email.

How do I verify my email address?

To verify your email, open the email titled as a verification from MOTLogs (it is sent from NoReply@MOTLogs.com) and follow the link. If it has not arrived, check your spam folder, then select Verify beside the email Verified box on the Profile tab. A green message says "An email verification has been sent."

The Verify button is greyed out when your email is already verified, and also when the page has no current saved email. If you have just typed a new address, select Submit first, then Verify.

If the send fails you see "Sorry there has been an issue with email reminder". Try again later or contact MOTLogs.

How do I change my phone number?

To change your phone number, replace the text in Phone Number and select Submit. MOTLogs reformats the number, and the phone Verified tick is cleared until you verify the new number.

While the phone number is unverified, the Phone Number field is shaded and the Verify button beside it is highlighted so you can see that action is outstanding.

Enter the number with its country code, for example +447700900123. A UK number starting 07 without the country code is not accepted by the verification call.

How do I verify my phone number?

To verify your phone, select Verify beside the phone Verified box. MOTLogs places an automated call to the number. A message says "Verification will starts shortly" (the wording is as shown). Answer the call and follow the spoken instructions.

Failure messages:

The Verify button is greyed out when the phone is already verified or no saved phone number exists. Save a new number with Submit before verifying.
