Adding a tester

This page is for Authorised Examiners and station owners who cannot see a tester on the Testers list.

Can I add a tester from the Testers page?

No. The Testers page has no Add or New tester button. Testers appear in the list when they are linked to a station in MOTLogs. You can edit the details of a tester who is listed, but you cannot create or delete one there.

Why is a tester missing from the Testers list?

Work through these checks:

  1. Check the scope picker. The list only shows the organisation and station you selected. Choose All stations to widen it.
  2. Check the tester is not retired. Retired testers are hidden and the page has no switch to show them.
  3. Check the station is linked to your organisation. If you have no stations yet, the first-run checklist item "Add your testers" has nothing to show.

If the tester is still missing after these checks, contact MOTLogs support with the tester's DVSA user ID and the station number.

What does the "Add your testers" checklist item do?

On a new organisation, the first-run checklist has an item "Add your testers" with the note "So each tester can be compared with national." Its Add testers button opens the Testers page. It does not open an add form, because none exists.
