Performance by tester and the 13-month trend
This page is for quality control managers who want to see which testers are furthest from the national or station figure on a Performance metric, and how that has moved over a year.
How do I see a metric by tester?
Select any tile on the Performance page. The detail panel under the headline tiles updates to read <metric> by tester, with the small heading By tester · <month>. It shows one bar per tester, labelled with their DVSA user ID, against a reference marker.
On a narrow screen, selecting a tile scrolls the panel into view.
What is the reference marker?
The marker is the National figure when TQI gives one for the metric. If there is none, it is the Station average, worked out as the average of the testers shown. A note under the chart states which, for example National 14%.
How are testers ordered and coloured?
Testers are sorted by distance from the reference, furthest first. Colours follow the same Within range, Watch and Outlier rules as the TQI table: 30% or more away is Watch, 60% or more is Outlier, with a minimum gap of 5 points or minutes. See National comparison and outliers.
Counts such as Group B Tests and Retests are shown without a verdict, because a count depends on how busy the tester was.
What does a small sample warning mean here?
For rate and time metrics, each tester shows their test count beneath their ID, for example 18 tests · small sample. Fewer than 30 tests is a small sample, and that tester can be Watch but not Outlier. The note under the chart says how many testers are affected: "2 testers have fewer than 30 tests, so treat those figures with care. A prompt to look, not a verdict on testing quality."
What if the month I chose has no data for a tester?
If the chosen month is not in the series, the panel shows the newest month that is, and the heading shows that month. If nothing exists you see "No tester activity for this metric in this period." If loading fails, "Could not load this metric." appears with a Retry link.
How do I show the trend?
Under the by-tester panel, select Show trend ("13 months, one line per tester"). A line chart opens with one line per tester and one point per month. The button changes to Hide trend. Hover a point to see the tester and value. The chart is disabled until a metric is selected. The trend is open or closed according to the saved view.
