Filtering the MOT test log and the At-risk view

This page is for anyone who reviews MOT tests in MOTLogs and wants to narrow the list to flagged tests, failed tests, tests outside hours or one tester's tests.

What is the At-risk view?

The At-risk item in the left-hand menu, and the At-risk tab in the phone tab bar, open the MOT test log already filtered to tests that need review. The page is headed At-risk tests with the line "Tests flagged for review this month." A chip labelled At-risk only appears under the heading.

The At-risk view shows only tests that are flagged and not yet justified. Once you justify a test, it leaves this view. See What makes a test at-risk.

The address of this view is /membersarea/tests?filter=risk. You can bookmark it or share it with a colleague who has access to the same organisation.

How do I leave the At-risk view?

Click the x on the At-risk only chip (its tooltip reads "Remove filter"), or open MOT test logs in the menu. The list then shows every test for the month.

What are the filter chips above the list?

Above the list, a row of chips filters it instantly without reloading:

Chip Shows
All n Every test loaded for the month.
Flagged n Tests that are at risk and not yet justified. This is the same list as the At-risk view.
Fails n Tests whose result begins with F (failed).
Outside hours n Tests flagged as outside your declared hours or outside your working hours.

A chip other than All only appears when it has at least one test, or when you have it selected. The number on each chip counts the tests it would show.

Picking Flagged switches the address to the At-risk view, and picking another chip switches it back, so a copied link always matches what you see.

How do I see one tester's tests?

Open a tester from the Testers page or from the tester comparison on the Overview. Those links open the MOT test log with a Tester: chip showing the DVSA user ID, and only that tester's tests are listed. Click the x on the chip (tooltip "Remove filter") to see everyone again.

You can combine the tester chip with the filter chips, for example one tester's Flagged tests.

Can I open a specific test directly?

Yes. A link that ends ?test=<MOT test number> opens that test's full record (the Comment on your MOT Log window) as soon as the list loads. Links from the flagged-test panel on the Overview use this. If the test is not in the station and month currently selected, nothing opens.

Can I save a filtered view?

Yes. Open the ... (More actions) menu at the top right of the page, choose Save view, type a name (up to 60 characters, for example "Main site at risk") and press Save. A saved view remembers the page, the filter, the organisation, the station and the month. Saved views are listed in the same menu; select one to apply it, or use the bin icon (Delete view) to remove it.
